John P. Saylor Trail

We’ll hike the Laurel Run Trail to Boulder Trail at Trough Creek S.P. hiking about a 2.5 mile loop. This is a moderate to difficult route with steep climbs and narrow pathways with stream crossings. We’ll return to the picnic area where we’ll teach you how to make various types of bread commonly baked over an open fire by the woodsman and the pioneers of days past used as an easy and sustainable food.
While dehydrated backpacking meals and trail mix provide the calories you need for a long journey in the woods. Eating a good hot meal is not impossible. Especially during a one night adventure. At Cookin’ with HBF Outdoors we’ll teach you how to cook some amazing dishes that are simple, tasty and healthy. As well as how to pack in food to keep it fresh.
You don’t want to miss this event. Stay tuned!
