ALL TIED UP IN KNOTS HIKE
JOHN P. SAYLOR TRAIL
LUNCH IS INCLUDED
Whether you’re an avid camper, a determined mountaineer or a wilderness explorer, learning how to tie knots is a useful skill for any wilderness situation. We’ll explore the bogs and forest of Gallitzin State Forest while hiking the John P. Saylor Trail. During our lunch break, our team will teach you 8 different knots that will get through any survival or camping situation.
Knot making is a simple mechanical skill, a skill that you will never forget, but it takes practice, repetition in other words so the skills become natural. In stressful situations, you want skills that come to you without thinking, where your hands and muscles know what to do without thought.
Sure, you can sit home and watch Youtube while learning to tie knots. But why “knot” get outside, meet new friends, explore Gallitzin State Forest, eat great outdoor cooking and learn a new skill.
