Would you buy leaves?
I often have what I refer to as “you’ve gotta be kidding me” moments. They come in all different shapes, sizes and formats.
This morning as I sat and watched my local news, which I don’t do often, and they did segment on buying leaves, vacuumed sealed in a plastic bag from Vermont.
Ok, so you’re telling me for a price I can buy a bag of leaves? You’ve got to be kidding me! The last time I had a bag of leaves I was hauling it to my backyard burn pile.
As you know HBF promotes the outdoors and getting outdoors. Man continues his efforts to bring nature to us without having to go to nature. It is far better to observe the fall colors in nature rather then through a plastic bag. Get outdoors, take in the colors, smell the fall air, and go for a walk.
If you’re one of those who fall for this ridiculous sales pitch, then I have a great piece of ocean front property I want to sell you in Arizona. Here’s my thought; this is just one of many reasons why I don’t watch the news, especially local news. The segment featured couple of guys from Vermont selling the leaves. Uh, hello…we have a load of leaves in PA that are just as pretty. Walk out you backdoor, grab a hand full of leaves and sniff. It’s that simple. Why our local news would broadcast this piece is beyond me. I guess they must really be hurting for some news.
Anyway, do yourself a favor and get outside. Fall is a great time of year to be in nature. Being outside offers health benefits, not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally. God means for us to enjoy His creation first hand, not through a vacuumed sealed plastic bag.
