1000 Mile Challenge

This pas Saturday I signed up for and started a challenge along with thousands of others. I’ll admit, this IS going to be a challenge for me. The goal is to put in 1000 miles between June 6, 2015 and June 5, 2016. On average it works out to be 2.5 miles a day, everyday for 365 days. Sounds easy, however most of us struggle to set aside time twice a week to walk that much let alone seven days a week for fifty two weeks.

What I like about this challenge is I’m not doing it alone. When you sign up you immediately become a part of a community of many others taking the same challenge. They have a private Facebook page for those who sign up and with three days into it and 16.08 miles I’m finding motivation and accountability from other members.

It’s not too late to get started on taking this challenge. It’s for a good cause of your choice as well as the personal benefits. I’ve chosen to put in my 1000 miles by hiking.

Here is more information about taking the 1000 Mile Challenge.

All Challengers will submit an Individual Monthly Mileage Report on the first of each month (due by the 7th). Teams will elect a Team Captain, and only the Team Captain will submit the Team Monthly Mileage Report. Team members will have to communicate their individual monthly mileage to their Team Captain.
